One Year Devotional For Pre-Schoolers Review

The One Year Devotions for Preschoolers 2 is a great little book for any preschooler. The illustrations are lovely and the passages are short. Each day has a scripture verse and a short devotional that explains the verse.
I would recommend this devotional book for preschoolers ages 3-6. There are simple stories that they can understand with colorful pictures. My 4 year old feels all grown up since she has a big devotional with 365 pages! We read it every night and she really enjoys it.
Tyndale publishing company sent me this beautiful book for review purposes

Zonderkidz Giveaway: My Christmas Gift

I have been collecting Christmas books for my daughter for the past couple of years now. We have a few classics but some of my favorites are from Zonderkidz. Crystal Bowman has written some wonderful children's books that help shed some light on the true meaning of Christmas.
My daughter's favorite is "My Christmas Gift," which is a colorful rhyming board book that explores why we give each other presents. Bowman explains the Christmas story, and why God loved us so much, that he gave us his son Jesus, and the true gift of Christmas is that if we believe in and love him, we'll receive eternal life.
"It's fun to find presents under the tree and give Christmas gifts to your family. But the very best gift comes from above - It's Jesus the Savior, wrapped in God's love."
My daughter really enjoys her simplistic but beautiful books and the illustrations by Claudine Gevry are captivating and inviting. It was a pleasure to review them and I hope you and your family enjoy them as much as we do.
Zonderkidz is generously giving away a copy of My Christmas Gift to one Mom's Best Bets reader!!

Are Angels Real? Book Review

I love the innocence of little one's when they ask about God and angels. This is exemplified through a little book that I was sent to review from Tyndale called, Are Angels Real? This "Little Blessings" book written by Kathleen Bostrom covers everything that kids want to know about angels. From the best-selling line, Little Blessings, this is perfect for young children who are curious.

The rhymes are easy but fun to read and the illustrations from Care Bears artist Elena Kucharik are cute as a button. I would recommend this darling book for any pre-school aged child.

Best Children's Christmas Story DVD

I have been on a search for the best Christmas story DVD.  We have watched Veggie Tales, and many others that you can find in stores.  I wanted something suited for younger children that was also great for the whole family to watch.  I found one, The Very First Noel.
It is the classic story of the birth of Jesus.  It has  loveable characters and all of the music is from The Brother's Cazimero ( Hawaiian artists) that have the most inspiring voices.
I hope you all enjoy this DVD as much as we do!

From Nightmares to Sweet Dreams

All children can have nightmares.  It's not always after they see or hear something scary.  Actually, children and especially babies, process new information they have gathered during the day at night while they are sleeping.
I taught my little one that she does not have to have bad dreams.  Jesus gave us authority over bad dreams.  I taught her to say this scripture. She is just four and has memorized it.  Your child might not know what all of the words mean but you can explain the meaning of it.  Basically, that all of your thoughts must line up with God.
2 Corinthians 10:5

"Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ..."

Did Your Kids Put On Their Armor Today?

Let's practically apply God's word today when our kids are getting dressed for their day~
Explain to them how God gave us an invisible armor to wear for protection today just like a knight or soldier would wear.  Then teach them what each  part of the armor means.

The Full Armor of God!

1. Belt of Truth - Knowing that God's Word is true.

2. Breastplate of Righteousness - Doing what God says is right and just.
3. Shoes to Spread God's Word - Telling others about God's peace.
4. Shield of Faith - Believing that God is in control and will give you His power (faith comes by hearing the word of God).
5. Helmet of Salvation - Accepting Jesus Christ to live in your heart!
6. Sword of the Spirit - Learning and using God's Word guided by the Holy Spirit.

The Story of Christmas~ Book Review

I was given the opportunity to review "The Story of Christmas", written by Gwen Ellis and Steve Smallman. This book is divided into nine short stories, starting with the birth of John and ending with Jesus as an adult.
It is a colorful retelling of the birth of Jesus. The language was age appropriate for younger children, but I thought it was strange that the word manger was omitted more than once, considering it's used so much during Christmas through songs, television, and books.

The illustrations are simple and bright and the questions on each page helps to promote a higher level of thinking . There is a  DVD that comes with the book, including coloring pages that can be printed out. This book is best suited for children ages four and up.

My four year old enjoyed this book and the DVD.  What a great way to share the true meaning of Christmas to your little ones.

The Road Less Traveled

Welcome to "A King's Kid,"a blog that is dedicated to practically applying God's word in your children' s lives. We are all kids of the King, so let's embrace this noble heritage and walk the road less traveled. The road may not be smooth all of the time but the reward at the end is great and eternal!

Walking The Regal Road-What you need to bring:

WISDOM

If you want to know a good book of the bible to start with, I recommend Proverbs.
Solomon, David's son, wrote in Proverbs about wisdom. True wisdom comes from God. Did you know that it's free and all you have to do is ask for this gift?

Happy is the man that finds wisdom, and the man that
gets understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the
merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more
precious than rubies: and all the things you can desire are not to be compared to her. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold on her: and happy is every one that retains her. (Proverbs 3:13-18)

Are you blessing your children or loved ones? Why not bless them today with a precious gift...wisdom!
Let's pray: Thank-you almighty God that Your skillful Godly wisdom shields (loved one's name) and your discretion and understanding watches over and keeps (loved one's name). (Proverbs 2:5-11)

Congratulations on taking this journey. Remember to always pray before you read and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal what is truth to your heart.
